HOW TO PLAY
~ Keep an eye out on social media and this site for new drop locations. They will come at random!
~ Scan the pictures & videos and use the riddle provided for clues as to where the drop is located
~ Once you find the treasure, take a picture and/or video then tag @slushsees.scavenger.hunt or email me to claim your prize! (Humboldt locals only - travel drops will have a random prize at the location)
~ Bonus points if you go on a longer walk and take pictures of pretty things you see or collect along the way, like rocks, feathers, flowers, etc.
~I will announce on my stories as soon as an item is found! YouTube playlists and website will be updated as soon as I can.
WHAT IF I GO TO A DROP AND THERE’S NOTHING THERE? For a limited time, the first person who sends me a photo of where they think the drop was will receive a prize of their choice. **Humboldt County Locals Only**
SLUSH SAYS:
~DON’T: MESS WITH NATURE! Please do not trample over or destroy any foliage in your search…it won’t be necessary to find the drop. Leave wild animals and critters alone, admire and take pics from a reasonable distance (and feel free to send them to me).
~DO: LEAVE IT CLEANER! Most drops include a small bag for picking up pieces of trash along your route. I can’t make anyone participate in that, but it would make me incredibly happy if you picked up a few pieces of trash while you’re out there!
~Drops will never be placed on private property – if you see Private Property or No Trespassing signage and are thinking about crossing it to look around, don’t! Please respect our fellow neighbors and the law.
~Prizes are cool, but the real underlying idea here is to motivate people to get out into nature and bring some joy to their world, if only for a moment. Some drops may be placed at a location that is not far up a trail, but I encourage you to take as long of an outing as you desire at the location. Bring lunch, bring your dog, bring your friends!
